Independent Hamburg cola with more caffeine, sold only in returnable glass bottles.
About fritz-kola
fritz-kola is a cola brand founded in Hamburg in 2003 by two school friends, Mirco Wolf Wiegert and Lorenz Hampl, who started with 7,000 euros of pooled savings and a simple recipe idea: more caffeine, less sweetness, real lemon juice. From the bars of Hamburg's Schanzenviertel it has grown into the best-known independent cola in German-speaking Europe, its black-and-white label showing the two founders' faces.
The drink is sold exclusively in returnable glass bottles, and the company campaigns publicly for deposit-return systems and against single-use plastic. It is equally outspoken politically, with poster campaigns against the far right and in defense of open societies — marketing that large corporations would not risk.
fritz-kulturgüter GmbH remains owner-led and has repeatedly turned down acquisition offers from multinational beverage groups, a refusal the founders treat as part of the brand. The trade-off of independence is reach: distribution is strongest in Germany and neighboring countries, and prices sit above the supermarket default.
